What it does well!

Key strengths users can’t stop talking about.
Excellent customer service during modifications.
Just wanted to chime in to vouch for OP’s reputation.
High-quality engineering in conversions.
Wow, this is some seriously cool engineering.
I don't remember seeing any other marker lineup back when I played where you could go up a level and lose features that the cheaper marker had.
Refined and durable platform
Egos and Geos have been around for the longest and have had countless iterations. They are refined platforms and have stood against the test of time and prevailed.
9v batteries are reliable and easy to replace
Why are paintball markers still using 9v batteries? Haven't played paintball in 15+ yrs and was browsers some newer markers for fun (Planet Eclipse).
100% would rather have a 9v. I can't tell you how many times i got to the field and forgot to charge my racegun battery.
The 9v last forever in my 170r, picked up a couple rechargeable ones and I think I've only swapped it once since I bought the gun over a year ago.
High-quality, reliable marker
All these guns seem to perform the same and it just comes down to shot sound signature (who cares really) and shot feel/kick (recoil in a paintball gun??? Come on).
CS2 has unmatched shot and performance
the shot and performance of a cs2 is unmatched.
LV2 shoots awesome right out of the box
It does shoot awesome right out of the box stock.

Where it needs some work!

Areas to watch—feedback on possible improvements.
Marker not the limiting factor in performance
any marker nowadays shoots pretty much the same.
Concerns about proprietary battery systems
The high end PE markers use AAs and 3v electronics.
Personally I rather have a standard battery 9v, or AA than some proprietary rechargeable battery that in 10 years will be very hard to find.

Core Power Plays

The specs and strengths that make it shine.
Conversion possibilities between different models.
Really solid job on this.
Etha 2 and other models are discussed as viable options.
The Etha 2 is the go-to choice if you just want a general purpose speedball gun.
Etha 2 is enough, 170R is a beauty, CS2 do you really need it?
Comparison of different markers and their performance.
160r or 170r both are gonna shoot the same as one another and they'll shoot similar enough to the rest of the PE catalog minus the geo 4.
Discussion on differences between Planet Eclipse electronic marker lines.
Planet Eclipse differences? I've recently gotten back into the sport.
Thanks for the run down. Poppits and spools? What's the difference functionally, I've heard those terms often?
I own an etek 5 and I love it. Great mid range price for a hell of a marker.
Discussion on historical markers and branding.
Old School Planet Eclipse Markers -- Am I Going Crazy? I remember having paintball magazines back in the day, with large ads for PE custom markets with anno and custom parts.
They were not going by PE, just Eclipse at the time. So Eclipse Angel, Eclipse Sterling, Eclipse *gun* is what you should search for.
Like others have said, they were just "Eclipse" back then.
There was, to the very best of my knowledge, never an Eclipse Blazer.
Preference for visibility of markers in daylight
the Redline board is invisible on the field. Not really to make changes, but to even make sure its on.
Comparison of different markers and their performance
The value is unmatched. Same performance for less money.

Hidden Hero Hacks

Unexpected tricks and side‑door uses you’ll love.
Group dynamics and tactics enhance fun
It can be a lot of fun when the whole group is just kitted out in some pump action rentals.
Most fun I had was paint balling on 4 wheelers with a driver and a shooter on each one.
Being strategic instead of being a sprayer is 100% more effective.
Comments on aftermarket parts for other models
The T98 can really be made into anything cant it.

Buyer’s Cheat Sheet

What to check before you click ‘Add to Cart.’
Experiences with varied gear lead to different gameplay
there is no such thing as causal paint ball player or you'll get recked like this guy.
I used to grab a couple of the young walkons and show em some stuff.
he was a good sport to the other players and he's overall a really nice dude, just with a pretty big paintball hobby.
Long break from the game and shift to a new marker
Got mine last week! Been outta the game for 15 years.
Lack of clarity between different marker lines
Tell me about each line, please.
Returning players consider upgrades and changes in technology.
Now that I’m getting back to the sport and have a more variety of what I can get, what planet eclipse do y’all recommend? I can afford any of them
Have an Ego 11. Those still decent? How much have the markers changed since then?
Thanks for everyone’s input after doing some research my two options are the lv1.6 or the geo4
Preference for standard batteries over proprietary ones
Personally, super super glad I run an electro with just regular old 9v
Confusion around Planet Eclipse marker options
Coming back to Paintball, can someone explain the Planet Eclipse market options?
Thanks, this is really useful! They should have something like this in their website, it's so confusing, but now I can start looking for my new marker.
Geos and Egos are the premier lines. (Spool valve and poppet valve)
Eclipse basically has two lines of guns and has moved from a yearly release cycle (Ego08/09/10) to a periodic update.
Discussion about tiers of quality in Planet Eclipse markers
I'm looking to purchase a planet eclipse marker, but I am unsure of the tiers of quality around them.
Their current "low-end" is the Etha2; "mid-end" is the Gtek and Gtek 160R; "high-end" is the LV1/1.1/LVR and CS1/1.5/CSR.
ANS, Amazon, and TMG have LV1.1s for under a grand.
They are totally different markers from the start. The Etek has its lineage from the Ego, which predates the Geo entirely.
User preference for new markers over used
I buy new whenever possible. I really only buy used when the marker is no longer being made by the manufacturer.
Challenges finding high-end markers in local fields
it’s tough to find people with the latest high end markers
Advice to hold and shoot both to find the best fit
most people would say hold and shoot both if you can and go with the one that *feels* best in your hands.
Discussion about airsoft version compatibility
Where did you find this and do they make air soft version??

Cautionary Callouts

Know the pitfalls before they catch you off guard.
Paintballing can be less enjoyable against high-end gear
it’s not even fun.
It isn't very fun when you have to use the worn out old rental guns against people with $1,200 professional grade guns.
In big group play everyone should be using the same gear.
Past issues with proprietary batteries in paintball markers
It was a disaster.
Comparison of reliability between markers
Im looking into upgrading from a rental tippmann 98 to my own marker.
Discussion on the potential of converting paintball markers into firearms
Homemade Straight Blowback 7.62x39 carbine made from a paintball marker
It's not a bad job for homemade honestly, get it to take a suppressor and I'd dare say it wouldn't be cursed
