What it does well!

Key strengths users can’t stop talking about.
Reliable and sturdy for rental use
they are sturdy and very very reliable as a rental marker.
A5 marker still performs well after years
Part of me would rather use the A5 cause I’m cheap and I own it already which means I’d only be paying for field admission and paint balls.
A5 will work fine, you might want to do a breakdown and check the orings though.
Good options for barrel upgrades
If it'll fit, I would go with an apex barrel. I know they are gimmicky but I definitely got a few players around corners and over cover before.
Good for magfed marker enthusiasts
What hopper should I go for on my TMC? Could it benefit from an electric one or would that be overkill?
When you choose magfed/pump, you're opting in to play vastly different from your fellow speedballers.
Improvement in accuracy with quality paint
If you want better accuracy, skip the barrel kit and just buy better paint. You’ll see much better results when the paint is round, clean, and consistent.
Good starter gun for beginners
I'd say for beginners to magfed it's good.
Reliable and decent performance
Good? Sorta. decent yes. Its entry level. Good price. Reliable.

Core Power Plays

The specs and strengths that make it shine.
Tippmann's history in manufacturing
Tippman makes real guns now and they're actually very well built.
They actually got there start making replicas of military weapons.
They started making sewing machines then made half scale military firearms like gatlin guns.
Discussion on paint compatibility with Tippmann markers
Best Paint to Shoot out of a Tippmann?
there's not much point to spending extra money on high end tournament grade paintballs for rec-ball with a Tippmann.
Best paintballs in general to shoot for all mark is like Marballizer and Evil it’s under Empire
Discussion on aftermarket upgrades and their effectiveness
From a quick look, it seems people have very mixed opinions on if it does anything good for your marker.
No. Don't upgrade a tippmann.
Because it's true. Upgrading and paintball is purely a money grab.
Durability likened to AK rifles
Fair point, but I've never heard of anyone describing them as the AK of paintball for that reason, they always say it's just because they're durable.
General discussion about marker parts
This is my first marker and I just took it apart, and this fell out.
Comment about the video quality and a specific scene
How Tippmann Paintball Markers are Made
Awesome video, 60 fps was a bonus. At the end though, that kid drops his mag, then leaves it, all while carrying pods. That bothered me more than it should have haha.
Discussion on barrel upgrades for TMC
Tippman tmc elite question I’ve got a stock Tippman tmc no major upgrades but I want a longer/better barrel is there any suggestions?
The stock tmc barrel is honestly not terrible for the marker. I’ve used the GOG inline, which quiets it down quite a bit. Deadlywind makes really nice carbon fiber barrels that are quiet too.
I would recommend a barrel with .687 boresize, Lapco Bigshot Assault, etc.
Lapcos generally good, the length of the stock ones ideal for combo play (cqb vs farther away) it's a blow back which means groupings are wide spread at farther distances, so no point chasing a rifled barrel.

Discussion on 3D printable conversion kits for Tippmann markers
If you own a Tippmann Sierra/Bravo One and want to go magfed -> 3D printable marker conversion kit.
Insight on magfed paintball play style
The TMC is a good starter gun, especially if you think you might want to try playing Magfed paintball one day.

Discussion on options for markers in paintball
Get the Etha 3M. To put it in old-school terms, it feels like shooting a nice AutoMag with zero need for tinkering or troubleshooting.
I'd say get the 3m first since it's a great marker and will a great shooter for you.
For sure the Etha 3m, however, if you want to save more money, you could just get an EMEK which is a cheaper option and also mechanical and extremely reliable.
Get the Etha 3M. To put it in old-school terms, it feels like shooting a nice AutoMag with zero need for tinkering or troubleshooting.
Discussion on paintball marker preferences
Any paintball marker with pepper ball rounds 🤷
What gun do you recommend?
Discussion on maintenance and cleaning features
Inside, you’re looking at standard Tippmann parts with some specialized pieces to allow for the top cocking mechanism.
Comparison to other brands and models
Again I ask what's worse than Tippmann?
a Spyder Xtra and, to a lesser extent due to meh reliability and long trigger pull, an Azodin Kaos 2.
Discussion on alternatives in the $400-$600 range
I like this gun because I'm a mechanical engineer and I like the fact that the entire package, hopper and all, is driven mechanically using compressed air.
$500 and you can get a brand new AutoMag RT ULE. Fully mechanical marker with a response trigger.
Discussion about expensive markers vs. Tippmann
What makes really expensive markers like Dye better than the cheaper Tippmann markers?
A really bad gun can limit you as a player.
Electros propel the paintball in a way that is not the way an A5, a 98, or any sear tripping blowback does.
Shot quality, reliability, better parts, lighter.
General preference for lighter guns over Tippmanns
The enemy will be lighter, and easier to clean/care for, and a lot more suited for any play than the tippmanns.
Do you already have a Tippmann? If so play with that if not I strongly suggest getting the GoG Enemy. It's better in every category.
The enmey is sweet and smooth, and tippmanns are kicky, cast aluminium, noise machines.
I have owned all three over a long period of time and I can honestly say that the Enmey is probably the best in every category unless you prefer Milsim aspects or don't like the way the Enmey feels.
Discussion on suitability of Tippmanns for different play styles
He means that Tippmanns are heavy and mainly used for woods ball.
I wouldn't take a tippmann a5 into speedball unless you feel super comfortable doing so.
When I save up enough money I could always just buy a milsim gun, and/or just sell/trade my tippmann for a better gun.
Comments on maintenance and ease of use of the GoG Enemy
enmy takes the hoppers you would use on any regular speedball gun and requires low maintenance
Discussion on alternatives to Tippmann A5/98
A few of you have convinced me that a speedball oriented marker works in the woods, so I'll be using my brother's old marker a freestyle ICD for the rest of the season.
I'm a tippmann guy but I don't even recommend the a5 or 98 these days.
Check out the BT TM7. Speedball internals, light weight, and very compact.
Comparison of magfed markers
I'm also definitely after an assault rifle, so things like the M17 CQB I'd only choose if I can also grab a new barrel shroud.
The CQC is the most affordable of the three and is arguably one of the most feature rich with full auto capability right out of the box.
Fantastic write-up, thank you so much! So far you've really sold me on the M17, it seems like a grea
The marker is very reliable, meaning that I would screw in a tank and it would air up and if I pulled the trigger it would shoot.
Discussion on upgrading from A5 to Emek
I'd stick with the A5, unless you end up like me and just like having different options.
The a5 will still work and you obviously already have it. If you do upgrade and emek is a great upgrade though in the long run.
General comparison to other markers
I would recommend just getting a used Tippmann stormer elite (both mag fed and hopper) as they are almost the same.
Discussion on comparing Tippmann TMC with A5 and other markers
Tippmann TMC Good Starter? My friends and I have been playing paintball fairly often recently, (Mostly woodsball). I am looking to get a gun of my own, and so far the Tippmann TMC is looking mighty fine.
Thanks, I value your input. I looked at the GoG eNMEy, and it's a pretty good candidate.

Cautionary Callouts

Know the pitfalls before they catch you off guard.
Theoretical benefits of flatline barrels
The flatline is about range, not accuracy.
Actually flatline barrels do work
Rear sight is not necessary for function
It’s the rear sight. You can leave it out if you want.
Rear sight. Not really necessary for function of the marker
Concerns about front sight spring
I'd be more concerned if you were holding the front site.
Discussion on perceived over-promotion and shill posts
Money down the drain bro.
