What it does well!

Key strengths users can’t stop talking about.
No plastic parts in water contact areas
all the water contact spots are metal.
all the interior, water-contacting parts are bare stainless.
I don't want any plastic parts touching the water. It should be all stainless steel or glass inside.
very recently gotten into tea, and wanted to buy an electric kettle. I saw a lot of people recommending the cosori as the best option in the $50-70 range.
Enjoyable performance and reliability
I've had my Fellow kettle for years and it still looks great and functions marvelously.
Quick heating performance
It's quick to come up to temp and at just under a liter, it's the perfect size for me.
It's quick to heat up and just the right amount for me.
It's a great kettle for the price.
Amazing device. Better than anticipated and it gets a workout here.
Reliable and enjoyable usage
I really like the pre-set buttons too. I don't have to think about thermometers or anything else while I'm brewing tea, and I appreciate it a lot.
This thing is phenomenal, no exaggeration.
The Saki Luna seems perfect. I'm not crazy about the color, but it's not stainless steel (tired of cleaning that finish), so it's not a dealbreaker either.
Enjoyable design simplicity
I have the Cosori, but I never use it because it is slow to boil, loud, and the pour is really slow.
Convenient presets for different teas
Having all the presets for different teas is fantastic as well.
Absolutely fantastic and super convenient.
Reliability over time
Same model almost 4 years no issues! Love it.
It's wonderful.
Super convenient for daily use
Just the right size that I can fill it all the way up for a tea pot if needed.
Good pouring performance
It’s not painfully slow or anything.
Durable and reliable performance
Very reliable for years and has the auto-off once it reaches boiling.
Enjoyable performance with no issues
I have it and have had no problems with it.
Quick boiling capability
Quick google research I can't find a reason not to try Cosori outside the presets.

Where it needs some work!

Areas to watch—feedback on possible improvements.
Quality issues noted in 1-star reviews
Unclear how widespread the problem is, but it does seem to be a problem.
Pouring can be messy with smaller volumes
when it's not very full (I don't usually heat more than .5L at a time) it splashes/dribbles when I pour.
Concerns about variable temperature kettle quality
You can get a reliable kettle to just boil water for very cheap just about anywhere.
Low quality feel compared to other brands
My friend has a COSORI, and it feels really low quality to me.
No visual indication when kettle is ready
There's no visual indication, so if you're out of the room (or simply doing something the least bit noisy), you won't know if it's up to temp.
Difficult pouring control
It is difficult to control. But you do get used to it.

Core Power Plays

The specs and strengths that make it shine.
Discussion about kettle brands and their features
I have a Fellow Stagg and can confirm that the inside is pretty much entirely stainless steel, as /u/Gregalor wrote.
The Fellow brand kettles (Corvo and Stagg) have a little silicone washer where the temperature probe sticks up on the bottom.
So it's all stainless inside aside from a silicone washer? It is significantly more expensive than others.
It’s expensive because it has 1-degree temperature increments and is the only kettle I know of that goes low enough for gyokuro.
Discussion about kettle brands and features
You are not going to find a 100% stainless steel interior kettle from any brand with a reputation, except for Fellow, but that seems out of your budget.
Yeah, I was worried that because of the high temperature, chemicals get into water more easily. But every kettle has it I guess I just have to accept the risk.
Discussion about personal preferences for kettle materials
I’ve got a Bonavita electric kettle. There is some plastic/silicone on the outside.
I am convinced it doesn't exist.
Discussion on kettle brands and features
My favorite coffee youtuber, James Hoffmann, did a very in-depth comparison of temperature controlled gooseneck kettles here.
The kettle is fast, quiet, and pours well; but the on/off is very annoying.
Discussion about alternative kettles and materials
the Fellow EKG Kettle and the ZWILLING Enfinigy Electric Kettle Pro both are solid metal on the inside.
Just get a metal stovetop kettle. You can use them with induction stovetops for fast heating.

Unexpected tricks and side‑door uses you’ll love.
Discussion about alternatives to plastic kettles
Best option might be a cast iron kettle that you put on the hob, if you have an induction hob it’ll heat up in about the same time as an electric kettle.
Beat me to it. This or stainless steel would have the best end of life situation. An electric kettle is just going to end up in a landfill when the electrical components give out.
Man, I went searching for a sub like this because I couldn't help but notice plastic inside my kettle and this was literally the first post I seen.
Xiaomi's kettle is only s/less steel on the inside. No contact of water with plastic.
Discussion about alternatives to temperature controlled kettles
What I use is a cheap variable temperature miroco gooseneck kettle.
I recently lost my Bonavita variable temp and briefly tried to replace it with a cheap chefman.

Discussion about cleaning methods for kettles
I've already tried washing it out with hot soapy water, but this picture is what I still have left.
Vinegar works best. Happens to my kettle quite often.
Discussion about trust in Amazon reviews
Thanks!

Bonus points if it’s pretty or has multiple settings!

Cautionary Callouts

Know the pitfalls before they catch you off guard.
Discussion about alternative kettles and tea brewing methods
This thing is pretty great, we’ve had one for over a year and it’s been completely trouble-free.
They are excellent for large or long gatherings.
Most teas do not want a full roiling boil.
You shouldn’t hit tea with full boiling water though, especially green and “white “ ones.
Discussion about alternative kettles and safety concerns
A lot of people prefer glass due to it not leeching anything and usually being plastic free on the inside.
Fellow has a silicone seal around the temp sensor in the water, so not 100%.
do you think the o ring used there is safe in boiling water?
silicone which is inert like glass. But the cadmium point raised by someone above might be a thing to think about.
Concerns about mold or rust in kettles
Why did I let myself worry so long about this haha I have vinegar sitting like 2 feet away from my kettle 😂 thanks again.
Discussion about kettle pouring performance
I'm looking to get a gooseneck electric kettle (I've had the cuisinart 1.7 L for a while and it's fine but doesn't pour as well as I'd like).
All are going to pour slower than most people want for tea.
