With a capacity of up to 12 cups cooked rice, this versatile cooker not only steams rice but also prepares porridge, oats, and even cakes, making it a valuable addition to any kitchen. Consumer sentiment highlights the CUCKOO rice cooker's ability to produce rice that is cooked perfectly with a sticky texture, as one user noted, "it cooks rice perfectly." Many customers appreciate its reliability and the efficiency of its timer and warming functions, making it ideal for busy families. However, some users expressed concerns about longer cooking times and inconsistency when cooking small batches, which could affect its overall appeal to potential buyers. What it does well!

Key strengths users can’t stop talking about.
Cooks rice perfectly
Works great, exactly what I needed to make meals quickly when I get home, makes rice perfectly, timer option also good.
Even if there was a brand new model, "obsolete" wouldn't be the right word as this thing would still cook rice well compared to new models.
The longer cook times on the fancier rice cookers gives a better finished product.
I put it on rapid and cooked one cup and it came out good.
Cooks all grains perfectly
Eta: Cooks all the grains perfectly if you follow the instructions for grain to water ratio.
Made in Korea
Since no one is actually responding to the quality of this one..
Cooks rice slightly stickier
Main difference is the cooking time. I've gone from Zoji to Cuckoo, and the main difference was a s
Great for cooking brown rice and porridge
love eating soups and hope that a pressure cooker creates better/faster results.
I have had a different induction pressure cooker rice cooker from Cuckoo for so many years and I love it to the extreme, even kept it going when the latch broke, and I had to tape it up to get it to lock properly, and I just upgraded to this 10 cup dual cooking mode.
Pressure cooking functions are versatile
Let me start by saying that I know this is in no way a traditional pressure cooker and that it’s primary function is rice cooking.
With the pressure setting, you can do Uzbek plov. It's basic but good!.
Pressure released automatically in the last 5 minutes of the cook. The pork belly turned out very tender and the fat just melts in your mouth.
I can cook anything and everything in here. I throw my ingredients in, hit start and by the time I come home after my workout, my porridge/soup/oatmeal is ready for breakfast.
Keeps rice warm and fluffy
The keep warm mode is set above the "danger zone" so bacteria cannot grow.
Some fuzzy logic rice cookers have a timer as well as a keep warm function that keeps the rice at a high enough temperature.
Cooks rice with a sticky texture
I couldn’t find a way to get our Cuckoo to make rice that wasn’t very sticky, it’s just the way it makes rice.
I liked my tiger lily one it came out kinda sticking together I’m wondering if I’m on the wrong setting
Fluffier rice results with specific settings
I find that gives a fluffier result.
Highly recommended in Korean reviews
They're pretty well known by pretty much all Koreans.
Cuckoo is Korean and Zojirushi is a Japanese brand. For regular white and brown rice I personally don't think there is any discernable difference in the results.
Cooking process indicators are clear
it shows this rectangle that looks like it is loading and it does not change after pressing start.
That just means it is cooking. It shows a timer only for the last 9 or 10 minutes.
Timer shows up around the 15-minute mark.
Cooks rice stickier
my rice is stickier in the cuckoo (I use sushi rice which should be sticky in my opinion).
Made in Korea, quality assurance
I have the pink one which is made in Korea rather than China, no issues with it whatsoever!
User satisfaction with performance
I think it was well worth it, I love it and use it about once a week for 6 the past months or so.

Where it needs some work!

Areas to watch—feedback on possible improvements.
Long cooking time
Rice cooker takes way to long to cook a cup of white rice.
Inconsistency with small batches
asking because I’ve had rice cookers before who would cramp out after 2 cups
Had a cheaper rice cooker and was always at least semi-happy with the output.
Rice comes out crunchy
Cuckoo Rice Cooker Sucks Hoping for some advice, everytime I use a cuckoo CR-0351F the rice comes out crunchy.
Lacks temperature setting in this model
this model doesn't have a program where you can set the temperature.
Heavy and noisy during operation
Having issues cooking good rice in Cuckoo rice cooker
User confusion over settings for rice types
Love Thai rice style. In Thailand, we have better sticky rice than coming out from this one.
Potential for breaking within a year
Cuckoo rice is good depending on the model but it will break within a year with error codes you can’t understand so they have service centers that will fix it for as much as a new rice cooker, $120+
Rice can be too sticky for some
we find it's just too sticky for our tastes.

Core Power Plays

The specs and strengths that make it shine.
Discussion about correct rice measurements
Are you adding 3 cups like baking cups - 240 or 250 ml depending on where you live - or are you using the smaller rice cup that should have came with it?
This is probably it.... I have the same one and the provided cup is smaller than a regular cup.
If it's crunchy and there's no extra water, there isn't enough water added.
Do you have it set to Glutinous rice?
Discussion about pressure cookers vs. non-pressure cookers
Rice is rice.
Curiosity about features like music when cooking
Does this one play the little tune to tell you your shit's cooked?
Cuckoo is well known among Koreans
Cuckoo rice cookers are to Korea what Zojirushi rice cookers are to Japan.

Hidden Hero Hacks

Unexpected tricks and side‑door uses you’ll love.
Discussion about cooking methods for different rice types
what cooking method do you use to cook jasmin rice? glutin rice?

Model exclusivity at Costco
Cuckoo brand rice cooker Anyone know much about these cuckoo modes sold at Costco? Are they exclusive models or old models that are no longer sold by the manufacturer!
I think this is a Costco specific model that was made to be sold for significantly less than their other models.
Comparison to other brands/models
If it's made in Korea I'd give it a go. If not I'd spring for a made in Japan zojirushi or made in Korea cuckoo.
Does it really matter as long as it’s a quality product for a good price?
Duty-free shopping isn't worth it
Just don’t buy duty free honestly.
Shipping options for cuckoo rice cookers
Korean whole foods in London sells cuckoo rice cookers and they ship to Europe if that's a help.
Interest in 3 cup model size
I thought to buy it in the duty free only due to lack of space on my luggage.
Discussion on keeping rice for extended periods
They would probably leave that rice in there for days and every time he came back to it, it still appeared warm and fluffy??
The timer goes to 99 hours and brown rice is still good with this process
Comparison of Cuckoo and Zojirushi models
How does it compare to a Cuckoo? For example, the CRP-LHTR0609F (370€ twin pressure)
I decided to go for the Cuckoo because it was cheaper, mainly, and been very satisfied with it. It works great, and the rice definitely comes out super nice compared to my older basic (cook/warm) ricecooker from which the pot was degrading quite hard.
Thank you! I came to a similar conclusion becsuse even the top cuckoo models are sold at a similar price.
Discussion about brand comparison
Thanks. I'm looking at the red one, I wonder if there's a difference in where they're made vs longevity

Cautionary Callouts

Know the pitfalls before they catch you off guard.
Cultural perspective on rice cookers
Use the quick mode when you’re in a hurry and normal mode to either keep warm or refrigerate when you are not.
Concerns about voltage compatibility
Most if not all of these will not work. You would need a step up transformer.
Discussion about preference for Zojirushi over Cuckoo
There are many models of Cuckoo and Tiger. Either brand is a decent choice.
I have this gripe about Costco trying too hard to be a price leader rather than a quality leader.
Had a Zojirushi for years (15? maybe) and absolutely loved it until the heating element started to fail.
User confusion regarding cooking mode timers
Do you find any difference in the turbo speed mode (쾌속)? For me it takes about 40 mins in both of them.
I only ever use glutinous/백미 mode and don't really time it, but now I am interested too.
