Snoop's Take

The ESPRO - P3 French Press is a double micro-filtered coffee and tea maker that brews up to 32 ounces of a smooth, grit-free beverage, thanks to its advanced stainless steel double filter system and unique safety lock. It promises a precision brew that stops extraction instantly after pressing and is crafted to deliver both rich flavor and impressive capacity. Consumers are divided in their verdicts – while many applaud its innovative filtration and ease of cleaning (one enthused reviewer stated, 'Espro. Hands down.'), others are quick to point out its flaws, such as excessive plastic in filter parts and significant coffee waste. Some users even lament, 'I’d say something like the espro would be near the top of the list,' only to follow up with gripes about liquid loss and an overly clean cup that lacks the traditional French press grit. The commentary oscillates between awe for the brew’s clarity and frustration at its design quirks. Overall, the ESPRO - P3 French Press is recommended for those who value a meticulously filtered and consistently smooth brew, as long as you can overlook its minor imperfections and inevitable coffee wastage. Its high-quality performance makes it a standout in the premium French press category, despite the contentious debates among users.

They also have a unique filter that filters more than the standard French press and is easier to clean (snaps off rather than having to screw it on).

Positive Feedback

Filter parts has a lot of plastic though. That's too bad.

What it does well!

Key strengths users can’t stop talking about.
Excellent brewing performance with effective filtration and heat retention
They also have a unique filter that filters more than the standard French press and is easier to clean (snaps off rather than having to screw it on).
Espro. Hands down.
I’d say something like the espro would be near the top of the list
Reliable performance and long‐term satisfaction
Spring for the Espro - absolutely worth it
I’ve had an ESPRO for years and love it.
High-quality build, performance, and effective filtration
It's freaking awesome.
have one and I like it, though I cant say Ive used many other french presses.
This thing seems really cool.
Price is the main reason, but having used one it's otherwise superior to other french presses in nearly every way, IMHO.

Where it needs some work!

Areas to watch—feedback on possible improvements.
Excess plastic in filter parts
Filter parts has a lot of plastic though. That's too bad.
Coffee loss collecting at the bottom of the press
However, I've seen some reviews saying that you lose almost a cup of coffee in the bottom of the press - especially when you make small amounts of coffee.
Brew is too clean, lacking the expected grit
I associate FP with a very gritty cup and the Espro killed that for me.
I even go as far as to add a paper filter to my espro press - as I prefer the oils to be removed, even less grit.
Coffee loss due to the filter trapping drinkable liquid
Only real downside is that the filter traps a bit of drinkable coffee at the bottom and you seem to get less out.
There is a bit of coffee remaining in the press after plunging and the initial drain.
There is a good amount of liquid that remains at the bottom of the device after the plunger has been fully pressed.
a lot of coffee gets left in the bottom of the espro (wondering if it's because the bottom of filter is plastic instead of mesh).
Significant coffee waste due to design
it leaves a significant amount of coffee behind.
it wastes a fair amount of the brewed coffee.
I suspect that you might be encountering the problem I had initially but I developed a method that wastes very little and you should be able to poor out nearly all of the coffee.
Part of the reason the Espro can be so clean is because it leaves some coffee behind.
Difficult to clean and liquid loss due to filter design
Not worth it. It just traps more of the liquid and makes it harder to clean.
A little hard to clean but worth it.
Replacement filter availability issues
Whats going on with ESPRO 32 ounce French Press filters?
It looks like the French Press ESPRO 32 oz filters are actually out of stock on their official website.

I'd move on with a simple and regular french press and just add normal filters to it, here's a video that explains this better.

Core Power Plays

The specs and strengths that make it shine.
Stainless steel insulated French presses offer long‐term durability
Zero problems in 10 years.
Stainless steel vacuum insulated is the way to go.
I figure I'll be using it for the rest of my life.
Glass French presses are appreciated for their aesthetic design features
The one aspect I miss about a glass French Press is that some have a lovely continental (Art Deco?) design that conjures images of Parisian sidewalk cafés and fresh steaming croissants.
The very first thing I missed about a glass carafe was being able to have a “fill to here” mark on the outside.

Buyer’s Cheat Sheet

What to check before you click ‘Add to Cart.’
French presses are widely regarded as difficult to clean
French press is a whole*thing*
If French Presses didn’t leave a swamp of coffee grounds that deliberately elude all efforts to swish them out of the Press coffee gear development would have ended w French Presses.
French press is PITA to clean
in the toilets sometimes.

Cautionary Callouts

Know the pitfalls before they catch you off guard.
No noticeable taste difference between cheap and expensive French presses
Never once have I experienced any difference in taste between a cheap French press and an expensive one.
Co-sign this.
Glass French presses are prone to breakage
I've broken so many glass ones, but I just like being able to see the coffee inside :(
Anybody who claims they can taste the difference between a $10 French press and a $100 model, using the same brew method, is probably lying.
Excessive insulation can lead to higher brew temperatures causing off‐flavors
Could be the insulation. It'll cause the water to retain more heat during brewing, making the average brew temp higher.
In my case I noticed it was bringing out a lot of smokey/ashy/burnt caramel flavours into the brew.
No significant taste difference despite advanced filtration
French press is french press.
Same coffee flavor, less sludge and grit. Nothing changes, just how many particles you’ll filter out.
