What it does well!

Key strengths users can’t stop talking about.
Convenient for cooking pork tenderloin
I especially like that they are already vacuum sealed, so i can just throw it in.
Convenient for cooking sous vide meals
I started using a foil covered stock pot wrapped in a towel.
Get an Anova Nano for $125. They've sold a billion of them to good reviews.
Collapsible lid design reduces evaporation
In no particular order:
Holds heat and steam well with minimal water loss
I have one of theses, it is great and hold in heat and steam with very little water loss.
First things first is an immersion circulator - I use a Joule and have had it for past 5 years
Works great for sous vide cooking
Is this type of prep container safe to use for sous vide?
I have three different sizes and never had a problem with any of them
Yeah I think I have this exact one and it works great
Convenient collapsible lid design
The polycarbonate (transparent) one is safe. The prolyprolene (translucent, bpa free) is not heat resistant enough.
My total cost is just under $200.00 and I'm hoping I did okay for that price.
Containers hold heat well
These containers are great, they hold heat really well and fit most of what you’re gonna cook.
Cost-effective for starting sous vide
It’s paid for itself though in terms of turning cheap cuts of meat into gold and saving on takeout b/c it's so easy during the week.

Countertop heat damage risk
You might want to put something between the container and your countertop to absorb the heat, as some people have damaged their counters with a setup like that.
Lid not specifically cut for some units
Downside, the lid is not cut for the unit.

Discussion on preferred brands for sous vide machines
Hello there guys, so I do have a question regarding the sous vide machine that I should buy, I have been looking for quite a few and I have a Budget of 200-250 I know the joule is a good one but I was wondering if it's worth the 100 dollars difference between it and the annova I do not live in the us/uk so it's a bit hard to get one of those and extremely expensive as well bit I did manage to save up for one l. So please guide me on which one should I choose.
No bells or whistles to break. Mine is going on 7 years now.
The anova model you link is probably the best on the market in 2024. We got it last christmas, and really love it
Realizing this is old, I could never recommend Anova to anyone now that the APP requires a subscription. I like my Anova, and luckily am grandfathered with free APP use for now, but will spend $$$ on a new non-Anova unit well before I pay even $1 for an APP subscription.

I think the ISV-100W, I dont use a vacuum sealer - just push the air out by submerging gets most of the air out anyway.
I’ve only ever SV’d using a pot on my stove and it’s worked great, but I’ve never done anything that required longer than 3 or 4 hours.

I cut a hole in the top of my Coleman cooler. Works great.
It's big enough for nearly anything we want to do, and stores our sous vide, racks, etc inside when not in use. It works great!

It is a big birthday so we have a decent budget (hopefully) of £300/$365.
Assuming he has space... get a Sousvide Circulator (Anova, Joule, etc), a food sealer & bags, and a container to cook in.
